Improved internet in our Hampton!

You commented- we listened. Our hotel improved the wi-fi system (hardware and bandwidth) in August this year and since then we have not heard anything else but great comments about our fast and easily accessible internet. Because this service is so critical, we carefully monitor performance across multiple channels and look for ways to innovate and stay ahead of guest expectations.

Hampton's Performance:

J.D. Power's 2013 North America Guest Satisfaction Index Study shows Hilton Worldwide is consistently beating our competition in guest satisfaction with Internet performance. And even better news ... Hampton recorded the best performance in Internet access of the 27 brands studied!

Hilton Worldwide launched the StayConnected program in 2005 to provide guests with high-quality, consistent Internet access at each of our hotels. The J.D. Power study included more than 80 hotel brands across all segments, including 27 full-service, focused-service and extended-stay brands managed by Hilton Worldwide and our four major competitors.

Hampton recorded the best performance in Internet access of any of the 27 brands. Here are some specifics:
  • Only 4.78% of guests at Hampton had an issue with Internet, compared to 10.02% among the industry overall.
  • Internet satisfaction at Hampton was significantly better statistically than in the previous year - one of only two brands in the segment to note a significant increase.
High-quality Internet access is non-negotiable for today's guests, and J.D. Power statistics support this claim:
  • Internet problems are the single highest guest problem driver, accounting for 31% of all reported guests problems.
  • Guests who don't experience Internet problems provide overall J.D. Power scores that are 102-123 points higher (depending on the hotel segment) than those who do experience Internet problems.

    National Coffee Day- September 29

Are you reading this blog over a steaming cup o' Joe?

Sunday, September 29, is National Coffee Day. All around the US, businesses are offering patrons free or discounted cups to celebrate.

In honor of the "holiday" please stop by in our Hampton Inn and Suites in Pinedale -the week of September 29th - October 5th and get a free cup of your choice (Robust, Regular or Decaff ) on your way to work or if you only passing by (please mention the offer from the blog to the breakfast attendant).

Some Coffee Fun Facts to savor:

    • According to legend, a sixth-century Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi discovered his goats frolicking from one coffee shrub to another. He recognized that the coffee berries they were eating had a stimulating effect, and he began to experiment with the seeds. A century later, brewed coffee emerged in Arabia and the popularity of coffee grew at an exponential rate.
    • Today, more than 400 billion cups of coffee are consumed each year. As a world commodity, coffee is second only to oil!
    • Recently, scientists are researching on other use of coffee beans. Some researches revealed that coffee beans may replace fossil fuel and work in motor engines in next centuries.
    • If you’re willing to consume more caffeine, you should buy the light roasted coffee beans. Dark roasted coffee beans contain less caffeine than the lighter beans.
    • Kopi Luwak is excreted by a Sumatran species of wild cats. This refers to the most expensive coffee in the whole world. You will have to pay $100 to buy 4 oz of coffee.
    • Once a coffee-lover made a world record of consuming coffee. He drank 82 cups of coffee (about a gallon) in 7 consecutive hours.
    • During world war II, the soldiers used to compete against each other to secure the top coffee consumer’s position. US marine reported that the record was 20 cups a day.

Now ... take a coffee break, and have a great day!
