Dog Sledding race in Pinedale

The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR), founded in 1996 by Frank Teasley, has been the biggest sled dog race in the lower 48 states. The course takes racers through four states: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and includes this year`s addition in West Yellowstone.

The race stops are similar to the Tour de France, where the race stops in a different town each night. The race starts in Jackson with stops in West Yellowstone, Alpine, Pinedale, Lander, Big Piney, Marbleton, Kemmerer and Evanston, covering 350 miles in eight days. More information on the race is available at www.wyomingstagestop.org

On Monday, January 28th, racers leave Alpine for a 56 mile push, arriving in Pinedale. Sublette County Library will host a "Welcome Mushers" banquet at 6pm with dinner, drinks and live music. At this event, the Pinedale Stage Stop race Committee will announce its 2013 Junior Mushers. The race will continue the next day- Tuesday, January 29th, from the Upper Green parking lot above Cora heading to Lander.
The Hampton Inn and Suites is offering a HOT DEAL of $89.00 (original $109) for all attendees, dog sledding enthusiasts and families throughout the race days: January 25th-January 30th, 2013.
